§ 60. Mr. Corfieldasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether his attention has been directed to descriptions by a member of the Lands Tribunal of sharp practice on the part of the Bristol Corporation in the exercise of their compulsory powers under the Housing Act, 1957; and whether he will initiate an inquiry so as to ensure fair compensation for the persons who have been deprived of their houses for £1 apiece, in many cases after having already been forced to meet the cost of demolition.
§ Mr. H. BrookeI have seen Press reports of a recent Bristol case before the Lands Tribunal. There is no official transcript of the proceedings, but I will study the decision when it is available.
