HC Deb 17 March 1959 vol 602 cc12-3W
55. Mrs. Mann

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many applications he has had from local authorities in Scotland for financial assistance in schemes of rehabilitation; how many of these he has sanctioned; and what priority is given to those suspended in 1952.

Mr. J. Rodgers

The circular inviting applications was issued by the Department of Health for Scotland on 12th March, and no applications have yet been received or sanctioned. No question of priorities for schemes suspended in 1952 arises: the initiative in putting forward proposals rests with local authorities and all applications will be considered on their merits.
