§ 71. Viscount Hinchingbrookeasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will send a circular to local authorities recommending that some degree of priority should be given in their housing lists to applicants from other areas who have agreed with another party on a simple interchange of houses.
§ Mr. H. BrookeExchanges between tenants of one local authority and another and between tenants of a local authority and a private landlord, have been recommended in a number of reports and circulars, and particularly in the report "Transfers, Exchanges and Rents" which was commended by circular to local authorities in 1953. These recommendations remain in force, and local authorities should continue to be guided by them.
