HC Deb 17 March 1959 vol 602 c17W
72. Mr. P. Wells

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he is aware of the serious coast erosion at Warden Point, Isle of Sheppey; and what assistance he will offer to the local authority to cope with the matter.

Mr. Bevins

The Sheppey Rural District Council, which is the coast protection authority, has constructed a number of groynes at Warden during the last few years, with the help of grant from my Department. Much of the Sheppey coast is subject to erosion, but it is for the council to decide what further works are required and whether priority should be given to Warden.
