§ Mr. WatkinsonNo. This is a matter of management for the British Transport Commission. Only a small proportion of timber imports is used for railway rolling stock. For many years all new passenger coaches have been built of steel, with wood used for interior fittings or panelling only. No wooden freight wagons are being built except where necessary for special purposes.
