HC Deb 11 March 1959 vol 601 c124W
Mr. Body

asked the Minister of Education what facilities for a grammar school education are available to children in the new town area of Basildon; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

The Fryerns Secondary School at Basildon, which is a grammar-technical school, admits about 120 pupils a year. Some pupils from outside Basildon attend this school, and a few Basildon pupils attend grammar schools elsewhere in the county. Another similar school, also at Basildon, will be begun within the next year.
