HC Deb 11 March 1959 vol 601 c119W
86. Mr. Burden

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what is the latest information regarding the use to which the Royal Naval Barracks, Chatham, will be put after they are relinquished by the Nore Command.

Mr. T. G. D. Galbraith

I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement I made during the debate on the Navy Estimates last Monday.

87. Mr. Burden

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what negotiations are proceeding to ensure that the Royal Naval Hospital, Chatham, will continue to be used for the treatment of sick persons after it is relinquished by the Royal Navy.

Mr. T. G. D. Galbraith

The regional hospital board has been considering its possible use to supplement the existing hospital resources in the area when it is no longer required by the Royal Navy. My right hon. and learned Friend the Minister of Health expects to receive the board's report in the near future.
