HC Deb 10 March 1959 vol 601 c94W
62. Mr. Malcolm MacPherson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, in view of the fact that officially-sponsored colonial students of banking and insurance in the United Kingdom have difficulty in making arrangements to obtain practical experience, whether he will take steps to resolve this difficulty.

Mr. J. Amery

An overseas student can only obtain practical experience in this specialised field in the United Kingdom by secondment from a banking or insurance firm of which he is already a regular employee. If the hon. Member will send me particulars of any cases where difficulties have arisen in regard to colonial students I will certainly look into them.
