§ Mr. Randallasked the Minister of Education, in view of the fact that young teachers have to wait 17 years before reaching the maximum of the basic salary, what consideration he has given to revising the existing salary structure in order to attract and retain sufficient teachers to staff the schools.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydIt is the function of the Burnham Committee under Section 89 of the Education Act, 1944, to consider and make recommendations on salaries of teachers. The Committee has recently entered upon negotiations for new salary scales.
