HC Deb 04 March 1959 vol 601 c56W
Mr. Stonehouse

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why no charge was made against Captain Ernest Law on 18th January, 1958, before an order was made under the Vagrancy Ordinance.

Mr. J. Amery,

pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 12th February, 1959; Vol. 599, c. 1334–5], supplied the following information:

No charge was made against Captain Law, because he was not being prosecuted for any offence. The court was, of course, informed of the reasons for his appearance.
