HC Deb 03 March 1959 vol 601 c24W
54. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is yet in a position to state when the Bridge of Don at Aberdeen will be open for public use.

Mr. Maclay

One carriageway of the reconstructed Bridge of Don has been in use since September, 1958, and both carriageways on the northern side are now being used by traffic. I am informed by Aberdeen Town Council that it is expected that, if weather conditions do not interfere, work on the second carriageway on the bridge will be completed by the end of March and work on the southern approach will be completed by the end of April.
