HC Deb 02 March 1959 vol 601 c19W
Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of murders known to the police for each month since June, 1958.

Mr. Maclay

One murder made known to the police was reported to me in July, 1958; one in August; three in September; three in October; four in November; five in December; and one in January, 1959. These figures, however, include cases which were subsequently, or may later be, found not to be murders.
