HC Deb 02 March 1959 vol 601 c3W
25. Sir M. Stoddart-Scott

asked the Minister of Health what percentage of the population of England and Wales received free treatment from general practitioners in the National Health Service in 1958; whether the number has increased or diminished in the last 10 years; and how far he estimates that the number will increase or diminish in the years ahead.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The number of persons who actually receive treatment from general medical practitioners in the National Health Service in the course of each year is not known.
