HC Deb 02 March 1959 vol 601 c9W
69. Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will direct the Forestry Commission to explore the possibility of giving financial assistance, as done in Argyll, to a private firm in order to build a modern saw-mill at Brandon, Suffolk, capable of handling softwood timber likely to come from the Breckland forests in the near future.

Mr. Godber

The Forestry Commission does consider matters of this kind in the normal course of its duties, but I will see that the hon. Member's suggestion is brought to its notice.
