§ 92. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many cases have been brought to his notice of oranges being treated with thiourea for purposes of preservation; and what steps he is taking to ensure that oranges so treated do not reach the public.
§ Mr. GodberMy right hon. Friend has been informed this year of four cases one of which was successfully prosecuted by the local food and drugs authority under the Preservatives in Food Regulations. In the last two cases reported my Ministry has warned the exporting countries concerned.
