§ Commander Purseyasked the Minister of Health the number of births at the Townend Maternity Home, Hull, in 1958, the number who were amenity bed patients and the fee paid by each patient, and the number of patients who were doctors' wives; how many of these were obstetric abnormalities, fifth and subsequent confinements, or in urgent need of hospital confinement on social grounds, respectively; and how many were second births.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithThere were 286 births in the hospital in 1958. All the patients occupied amenity beds and all paid the statutory fee of 12s. per patient per day.
