Robinsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, in view of the anxiety felt in Blackpool about the proposal by the Prison Commissioners to establish an open prison on the site of the Royal Air Force station at Kirkham, what consideration has been given to the danger entailed in having 156W such an open prison near to the temptations offered by a holiday resort, and to the danger of an escaped prisoner becoming lost in the holiday crowds; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerArrangements have been made for a meeting between representatives of the Prison Commissioners and of the Lancashire County Council and other local authorities in the neighbourhood at which these matters will no doubt be fully discussed.
