§ Mr. MaclayThe numbers of holdings for which Agricultural Returns were made at June, 1958, and June, 1955, were, respectively, 67,732 and 74,990. These figures include part-time units, crafts, seasonal grazings, etc., as well as full-time farms. The reduction in numbers since 1955 was primarily due to occupiers incorporating in one Return pieces of land forming part of one agricultural unit which were formerly shown on separate Returns.
