§ 22. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what progress has been made in conversations with the Yemen Government; and what frontier incidents have occurred in recent weeks.
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreA Yemeni delegation arrived in Aden on 18th May for talks on various outstanding questions. However, after arriving they decided not to enter into negotiations with the Aden delegation and they returned to Taiz on 31st May. This decision arose from a side-issue, relating to the status of the Federation of Arab Amirates of the South. Discussions have now been resumed to see if an acceptable basis can be found for talks. There have been no significant frontier incidents in recent weeks.
