Griffithsasked the Minister of Health whether he has now received the proposals of the Manchester Regional Hospital Board for the new Manchester Hospital; and whether he will give an assurance that he will not sanction the erection of a hospital providing for fewer beds than that which was originally agreed.
§ Mr. R. ThompsonMy right hon. and learned Friend has received the proposals. With regard to the second part of the Question, these proposals, which he is studying, are based on a re-assessment of need and consequently the assurance asked for would not be appropriate.
