HC Deb 12 June 1959 vol 606 cc131-2W
Mr. Gurden

asked the Minister of Education whether he is now able to announce his conclusions on the recent Report of the Special Advisory Committee on Education and Commerce.

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

Yes. I have now considered this important and practical Report and have today sent out a circular warmly commending it to local education authorities, on whom will fall the task of implementing many of its recommendations. For my part, I shall do all I can, in co-operation with the other interests concerned, to make its recommendations effective, and I have already told authorities that I shall give special priority to building projects for commercial education as part of the new three-year plan for Further Education building announced in Circular 1/59 of 13th April.
