asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the accounts of the Iron and Steel Realisation Account for the year ending on the 31st March, 1958, were not presented to Parliament before May, 1959.

In accordance with Section 22 (9) of the Iron and Steel Act, 1953, responsibility for presenting this account to Parliament rests with the Comptroller and Auditor General and not with my right hon. Friend.
