§ Mr. K. ThompsonDuring 1958, 752 applications for telephones were received of which 122 were subsequently withdrawn. Of the remaining 630, 467 had been connected by the end of June, 1959, and 80 others were in course of being met. During the past 12 months 649 telephones have been installed.

(2) how many telephone emergency services in the West Midlands telephone area are on party lines.
§ Mr. K. ThompsonEmergency services for business premises are normally provided by exclusive lines, but where such services are provided for residential premises the telephone lines may be shared. There are 149 of these shared lines in the West Midlands Telephone Area and 19 in the Walsall district.
