ThompsonSeparate figures are not available for the City of Manchester, but for the exchanges in the Manchester Telephone Area 112,833 telephones have been installed since the 31st October, 1951, as compared with 71,959 in the earlier period. This corresponds to an average yearly rate of supply during these periods of 15,000 and 11,000, respectively.
