Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that there is considerable anxiety in Leicester, and in the vicinity of Leicester, at the proposals arising from Command Paper No. 813 to close, or partly close, some thirty railway stations in that area; and what steps he proposes to take to prevent this action.
§ Mr. WatkinsonThe British Transport Commission will refer proposals for closing stations to the Transport Users' Consultative Committees in the usual way. The recommendations of the Central Consultative Committee would come before me later.
