§ Mr. John Hallasked the Secretary of State for Air how many incidents involving the unauthorised discharge of firearms by Royal Air Force personnel serving in Northern Ireland have come to his attention during each of the last five years; and how many of these incidents have involved fatal, and how many lesser, injuries to persons.
Mr. WardThere was one fatal accident in 1956; one fatality and three woundings in 1957; and one fatality earlier this year. One incident in 1958 did not result in death or injury. There were no incidents in 1955.
