Mrs. Whiteasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what steps he has taken to ensure that the 6W interests of the Forestry Commission and other timber producers in Wales in particular, will be taken fully into account in any discussions concerning imports of timber products, including fibre board, into this country.
§ Mr. John HareI assume the hon. Member is referring to the negotiations for a European Trade Association of the seven countries taking part in the Stockholm talks. The Forestry Commission and private producers have kept me informed of their views. The interests of timber producers were fully taken into account, along with those of other industries, in the Stockholm negotiations. We shall continue to have these interests in mind in the negotiations for the drafting of the Convention.
