§ 20. Sir D. Robertsonasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation why driving tests have not been held in Caithness since November, 1958; and why applicants have had to wait months for acknowledgement of their letters enclosing completed application forms and cheques or postal orders in payment of the test fee of £1.
§ Mr. NugentAs soon as it became apparent that the driving test arrangements for Caithness were not working properly, our Department held an investigation. Some mistakes had been made, but we have now taken steps to put these right, and I am satisfied that this action, together with our efforts to station two examiners in Wick, will provide a better service in future. I offer my apologies to those applicants for tests who may have been inconvenienced.
