Mr. Edward Evansasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will ensure that the interests of the British fishing industry will be adequately safeguarded in any negotiations on European free trade; and if he will give an assurance that the industry will be consulted before final decisions are made.
§ Mr. John HareThe interests of the British fishing industry will be taken into account in any such negotiations and I can readily give the assurance asked for in the second part of the Question.
