Mr. Straussasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation when he expects to receive from the British Stan- 132W dards Institution its conclusions about safety belts for motorists; and, in view of the deaths and injuries that would be prevented by the use of such belts, if he will ask the Institution to treat its consideration of this matter as urgent.
§ Mr. NugentI am informed that the British Standards Institution is making good progress in the work of formulating a British standard. I am sure the Institution is aware of the importance of doing this as soon as possible.
