§ 59. Mr. McInnesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state the number of families transferred to receiving areas since the introduction of the 110W Housing and Town Development (Scotland) Act, 1957.
§ Mr. MaclayAlthough the first houses built in pursuance of overspill agreements are only now on the point of completion, 38 families have already moved as overspill tenants to other houses made available by receiving authorities. Applications have been approved in this category from a further 194 families who will move shortly. It is not possible to ascertain how many families have moved independently of overspill arrangements, but in East Kilbride alone, from April, 1957, to March, 1959, Houses were allotted to 900 Glasgow families.
