§ Sir A. Bossomasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will introduce legislation to clarify the position with regard to the maintenance of fences erected along a new road, particularly as to how this applies to agriculturists.
§ Mr. WatkinsonIn general there is no obligation upon the highway authority to provide or maintain a fence nor is the land-owner obliged to provide one or maintain a fence that may have been provided. I do not consider that legislation on this matter is required.
