§ 59. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if his attention has been drawn to difficulties 68W arising in magistrates' courts about interpretation of the description, occasional licence; and whether he will introduce legislation to clarify this matter.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI am aware that different interpretations are sometimes placed upon the conditions that must be satisfied before the justices can give their consent to the grant of an occasional licence under Section 148 (3) of the Licensing Act, 1953. This point has been noted for consideration when a suitable opportunity arises for legislation.
