I much regret the recent increase in unemployment in Aberdeen which I understand is attributable to severe weather and other seasonal causes.
My hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade earlier this month publicised widely the assistance available to firms which will set up or expand in areas of high unemployment, and the Board's Regional Controllers will continue to bring to the notice of suitable firms the advantages which are available in Aberdeen.
