Mr. Awberyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps have been taken to establish a system of arbitration on industrial disputes in Singapore to which a question can be referred by either of the participants when it is likely to start or has started; and what is being done to establish any method similar to those which exist in this country for the settlement of industrial problems.
§ Mr. AmeryUnder Industrial Courts Ordinance, 1940, the provisions of which are similar to those of the United Kingdom Industrial Courts Act, 1919, there are facilities for settling trade disputes by conciliation and arbitration, and an Industrial Court has been established.
