asked the Minister of Defence to what extent the decision of Her Majesty's Government to build the T.S.R.2 aircraft constitutes a major change of defence policy.

Mr. Sandys

There has been no change of policy whatsoever. The Government's intention to provide the Air Force with a low-level tactical bomber to replace the Canberra was made clear in paragraph 51 of the Defence White Paper last year.
