Bossomasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, in view of the extreme density of traffic in certain areas of major cities, he will consider consulting with all authorities responsible with a view to securing that the work connected with road repairs, 20W widenings, or other interferences with the traffic flow, be carried on continuously for the full twenty-four hours.
§ Mr. WatkinsonI am considering this matter with the highway authorities' associations. It raises a number of important and difficult points, not the least being the extra cost that night working involves and the nuisance to residents affected by the noise of such operations.
