HC Deb 25 February 1959 vol 600 cc168-9W
107. Captain Orr

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation to what extent the passing of a driving test in Northern Ireland qualifies a person for the issue of a licence in Great Britain.

Mr. Nugent

The passing of a test in Northern Ireland does not at present entitle a driver to a British driving licence, but when opportunity for traffic legislation offers we will favourably consider what my hon. and gallant Friend has in mind.
