HC Deb 24 February 1959 vol 600 cc150-1W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he will consider investigating whether it would be advantageous where accidents are possible over United Kingdom landing fields, for radar control from the ground to be made more active than is sometimes the case at present.

Mr. Watkinson

I have no evidence to show that radar installations have not been active when required by pilots. However, matters affecting safety, such as this, are under constant study by my Department and changes in instructions to radar units can be made as may seem necessary from time to time.
