HC Deb 24 February 1959 vol 600 c125W
Mr. P. Williams

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give an assurance that British shipbuilders will be enabled to provide credit facilities at least equal to those of their major competitors.

Mr. Erroll

The credit terms on which ships are constructed and sold are a matter for negotiation between builders and owners and financial and other institutions. There are no restrictions imposed by the Government on their discretion.
