HC Deb 24 February 1959 vol 600 c126W
41. Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs how many appeals from refusal of planning permission for the quarrying of chalk in West Dorset he has received during the last five years; how many he has allowed; and to what extent, in deciding these appeals, he has taken into account both the need for more local employment and also the desirability of preserving the landscape.

Mr. H. Brooke

One such appeal was lodged, but it was later withdrawn.
