74. Mr. Teeling

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what proposals he will make regarding the position of the Maronites and other minority groups in Cyprus under the new arrangements; and whether he will ensure that the Maronites will still receive the money allowed them for building a new church, and that they will be allowed, as under the Radcliffe plan, a seat in the Assembly.

I cannot at this stage say more than that, of course, the interests of the various minorities have been fully borne in mind during the recent negotiations.
