109. Mr. Randall

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when he will reply to the letter from the hon. Member for Gateshead, West, concerning the case of K. M. Charlton.

Mr. Amery

As my right hon. Friend informed the hon. Member on 18th November, this case presents certain issues which have been under examination by his legal advisers and the Law Officers of Singapore.

The Governor now says that he hopes to be able to send his considered views within the next ten days or so.
