Mr. Edeasked the Lord Advocate on how many occasions, and on what dates, John Waters was interviewed by any person or persons inquiring on behalf of himself, or any person expected to report to him, as to whether sufficient evidence existed to justify a prosecution of any police officer for the assault on. or ill treatment of, John Waters.
§ The Lord AdvocateIn view of the fact that there is before this House a Motion that there should be an Inquiry under the Tribunals of Inquiry (Evidence) Act, 1921, into the allegation that John Waters was assaulted on 7th December, 1957, I do not think that it would be appropriate that I should at this stage answer Questions relating to this case.
