HC Deb 17 February 1959 vol 600 cc42-3W
Mr. T. W. Jones

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that 80 women, trained at the textile factory at Corwen, Merioneth, are now unemployed following the closing of the factory last August; and what steps he is taking to provide employment for them.

Mr. Iain Macleod

On 12th January, 1959, 30 women who were formerly employed at this factory were registered as unemployed in the Corwen area. My local officers are doing all they can to place those who are still unemployed in such vacancies as are notified to them by employers.
