HC Deb 16 February 1959 vol 600 c9W
81. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to what extent the proposals put forward by Sir Anthony Eden at the Geneva Summit Conference in July, 1955, for the reunification of Germany within a system of European security and the creation of a demilitarised zone in Central Europe remains the policy of Her Majesty's Government.

Mr. R. Allan

Her Majesty's Government still believe that the 1955 proposals constitute the best basis for a negotiation about European problems. In their opinion they provide the most satisfactory way of settling the German problem.
