§ 63. Mr. Blenkinsopasked the Minister of Health whether he will authorise additional expenditure by local health authorities and hospital boards on building projects, in view of the heavy unemployment amongst building trade workers.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithI am unable to add to my reply to the hon. Member of 1st December about hospital capital expenditure. So far as local authorities are concerned I am recommending for loan sanction a considerable number of building projects for their health and welfare services which fall within the terms of the circular on capital investment issued by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government on 17th November.
