HC Deb 16 February 1959 vol 600 c13W
93. Mr. Mikardo

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what British financial claims against the Government of the United Arab Republic, and to what amount, have been waived as an offset against Egyptian claims for compensation for damage arising during Her Majesty's Government's attack on Port Said and related damage.

Mr. Erroll

In advance of the signature and publication of the Agreement with the United Arab Republic it would not be appropriate for me to discuss what is being done about United Kingdom claims against the Government of the United Arab Republic or Egyptian claims against Her Majesty's Government.
