asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many dwelling-houses are condemned as being unlit for habitation in St. Helena.

Five dwelling houses have been condemned since 1954. In addition, a cluster of old buildings in the centre of Jamestown, known as the Canister, which housed 34 persons, has been demolished and is being rebuilt.
