HC Deb 11 February 1959 vol 599 c209W
Mr. E. Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for War for what reason 23660255 Sapper W. Toole, Royal Engineers, is to be discharged from the Army on medical grounds as soon as possible after his return to his unit; and if he will arrange for him to be admitted to a suitable hospital for immediate treatment as he is unfit to travel.

Mr. H. Fraser

Sapper Toole is being admitted to a civilian hospital near his home. The illness which has developed while he has been on leave has nothing to do with his prospective discharge from the Army; and the discharge is being suspended while his illness is investigated.

My hon. Friend has written to me about this case and I am sending him further details.
